A 53-year-old inmate on the State Penitentiary died Sunday, in line with the Nebraska Division of Corrections.
Melvin Stamper started serving an 18- to 34-year sentence for 2 counts of theft and possession of a lethal weapon by a felon in November 2005. The costs have been in Buffalo and Lincoln counties.
The reason for Stamper’s demise has not but been decided, the division stated in a launch.
As is the case at any time when an inmate dies, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
