CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ailing. (WCIA) — The Champaign County Sheriff’s Workplace launched its annual report on Tuesday about crime statistics in 2021.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to extra calls in 2021 than they did in 2020, however there was much less gun violence. It highlights a gradual return to normalcy after disruptions from the pandemic.
Sheriff Dustin Heuerman stated there are some issues about 2021 that did stand out, together with the severity of gun violence within the county.
“Of the capturing incidents we’ve seen, there have been fewer incidents which have resulted in property harm and there have been much less accidents than in 2020,” Heuerman stated.
