State trooper arrested for home violence, positioned on depart


GONZALES, La. (WAFB) – A trooper with Louisiana State Police has been arrested in connection to a reported home violence incident.

Based on authorities, Garrett Yetman, 28, of Baton Rouge has been employed with LSP since 2019.

At round 1:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, state police supervisors say they had been notified of a home violence incident involving the off-duty officer.

State Police reportedly responded to the 2100 block of Veterans Blvd. in Gonzales the place they met with officers from the Gonzales Police Division. The preliminary investigation signifies Yetman was concerned in an altercation with a feminine sufferer. Through the altercation, an assault and battery reportedly passed off.

The Gonzales Police Division obtained an arrest warrant for Yetman, who was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on costs of home abuse-battery by strangulation and easy assault.

LSP reviews Yetman was instantly positioned on administrative depart and all legislation enforcement property was recovered whereas the investigation is pending.
