State trooper arrested for home violence, positioned on go away


GONZALES, La. (WAFB) – A trooper with Louisiana State Police has been arrested in connection to a reported home violence incident.

In line with authorities, Garrett Yetman, 28, of Baton Rouge has been employed with LSP since 2019.

At round 1:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, state police supervisors say they have been notified of a home violence incident involving the off-duty officer.

State Police reportedly responded to the 2100 block of Veterans Blvd. in Gonzales the place they met with officers from the Gonzales Police Division. The preliminary investigation signifies Yetman was concerned in an altercation with a feminine sufferer. Throughout the altercation, an assault and battery reportedly came about.

The Gonzales Police Division obtained an arrest warrant for Yetman, who was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on costs of home abuse-battery by strangulation and easy assault.

LSP studies Yetman was instantly positioned on administrative go away and all regulation enforcement property was recovered whereas the investigation is pending.
