CBP Officers Seize 5,000 Rounds Of Ammunition, Money At Texas-Mexico Border


HIDALGO, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — U.S. Customs and Border Safety officers on the Hidalgo Worldwide Bridge intercepted 5,000 rounds of ammunition on Jan. 27.

“The undeclared exportation of weapons and ammunition into Mexico is unlawful. Our CBP officers prevented this ammunition from reaching Mexico because of their diligent inspection work,” stated Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

The ammunition was seized from a white Chevrolet sedan driving southbound to Mexico pushed by a 23-year-old U.S. citizen.

After bodily inspecting the automotive, officers found 5,000 rounds of rifle ammunition in addition to $4,555 which was additionally seized as proceeds of illicit exercise.

They seized the ammunition and automobile and arrested the driving force. The case stays underneath investigation by particular brokers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Safety Investigations.
