WEST BURLINGTON TWP, Pa. (WETM) – A Canton man incarcerated on the Bradford County Correctional Facility was arrested earlier this month after he allegedly attacked and spit at a number of officers.
In keeping with the legal grievance, corrections officers instructed State Police that Doyle Bonnell, who was solely 22 on the time of the assaults on January 7, was within the Restricted Housing Unit when he slipped out of his restraint belt and began swinging it by the air. The belt broke pores and skin on one officer’s left hand.
Bonnell then allegedly charged one other officer, pinning them in opposition to the wall after which “spit a considerable amount of saliva” into the officer’s eyes.
As different officers arrived to assist restrain Bonnell, he allegedly kicked one other officer within the leg. He was then restrained and tried to spit at one other officer, however missed her face and hit her leg.
Bonnell was charged with three counts every of Assault by a Prisoner, Aggravated Harassment by a Prisoner, and one rely of Aggravated Assault. All three are felony prices.
