An Orangeburg man is accused of capturing a person throughout a dispute about turtles, in accordance with a Calhoun County Sheriff’s Workplace incident report.
Antoine Dwayne Anderson, 46, of 1845 Kennerly Street, is dealing with costs of tried homicide, possession of a weapon through the fee of a violent crime and obstructing justice.
The capturing happened on Nov. 12 round 9:30 p.m. simply outdoors of Anderson’s residence, the incident report stated.
Anderson advised deputies he’d accused the person of stealing his pet turtles.
The 58-year-old Columbia man was upset when he arrived at Anderson’s residence, Anderson stated.
The 2 of them argued outdoors after which a bodily altercation ensued, the report states.
Anderson allegedly advised deputies that he went within his residence, retrieved a firearm and shot the Columbia man.
Deputies declare Anderson advised them he was aiming for the Columbia man’s hip.
The bullet struck the person’s left arm and exited his chest.
Anderson allegedly advised deputies, “I used to be not attempting to kill him. I attempted to shoot him within the hip and I aimed too excessive.”
Anderson allegedly advised deputies that he fled the capturing scene initially so he might toss two firearms in Sweetwater Lake.
He advised deputies he’s a convicted felon.
Deputies weren’t in a position to find the firearms.
Calhoun County EMS transported the injured man to Lexington Medical Heart.
Calhoun County Justice of the Peace Cassandra Keller set Anderson’s bond at $95,000 money or surety on Nov. 13.
If convicted, Anderson faces as much as 30 years in jail.
