Laredo, Texas – This week, Mayor Pete Saenz and Metropolis Supervisor Robert A. Eads met with the USA Ambassador to Mexico, Ken Salazar, together with different group leaders to debate subjects in regards to the U.S.-Mexican border. In an effort to proceed offering firsthand data to federal representatives on the problems the border faces, Mayor Saenz and Eads offered these to Ambassador Salazar throughout a roundtable assembly on Wednesday, October 27th. Points mentioned included lack of federal funds for border safety, the implementation of a digital wall as proposed by the Biden administration, and the risks migrants face when fleeing their nations of origin. Different discussions included the reopening of the border for non-essential actions and vaccination efforts for Mexican vacationers.
