BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. (KTXL) — A kayaker was discovered Wednesday morning after being reported lacking whereas out on the Feather River in Butte County the evening earlier than.
The kayaker’s spouse contacted the Butte County Sheriff’s Workplace round 7:25 p.m. Tuesday when the kayaker didn’t make a scheduled assembly earlier within the night.
With the assistance state park officers and the California Freeway Patrol helicopter, authorities looked for the kayaker within the space of the Feather River outlet off Larkin Highway in Oroville.
Regardless of an in depth search, authorities have been unable to find the kayaker.
On Wednesday round 6:30 a.m., a Butte County Sheriff’s helicopter pilot noticed an overturned kayak about one-eighth of a mile upstream from the boat launch.
Deputies adopted up and located the person about one-half mile upstream from his kayak, however have been unable to achieve him by land.
A Butte County Sheriff’s helicopter pilot flew out to the world at 9 a.m. and was in a position to safely hoist the person from his location close to the water’s edge.
The kayaker had minor accidents and was taken to a hospital for therapy.
