CHICAGO – A Lake County Sheriff’s Canine apprehended a suspect on Friday who’s accused of home battery.
Mark Mortensen 42, of Grayslake, faces three counts of aggravated home battery, escape and resisting a peace officer.
On Aug. 21, Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an aggravated home battery within the 33600 block of North Evergreen Drive.
Deputies discovered that Mortensen allegedly battered a lady he was in a relationship with, used a weapon and stabbed her.
Police mentioned he fled from the situation, and so they had been unable to find him.
On Friday, deputies obtained info that Mortensen was at a hospital for an unrelated medical matter and was about to be launched.
Deputies arrived on the hospital and instructed Mortensen he was below arrest. He then fled on foot, police mentioned.
