BROWNSVILLE, Texas — U.S. Secretary of Homeland Safety Alejandro Mayorkas held a press convention in Brownsville on Thursday to debate the state of affairs on the U.S.-Mexico border. (You’ll be able to watch it within the video participant above.)
Mayorkas traveled to south Texas to obtain operational updates, have interaction with the DHS front-line workforce and meet with native officers and neighborhood leaders.
Mayorkas’ go to got here after native leaders requested the Biden administration to go to the Rio Grande Valley to see firsthand the rise in migrants.
U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) was amongst those that met with Mayorkas.
