INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — An Indian River County Jail corrections deputy was fired Sunday following a home violence cost in opposition to him, Sheriff Eric Flowers introduced.
Flowers stated former Corporal Christopher Eric Swindell had been charged Sunday by the Port St. Lucie Police Division. The sheriff, in a video posted on YouTube and Twitter, stated he despatched workers to the St. Lucie County Jail to serve Swindell discover of his termination.
Flowers stated Swindell’s cost concerned alcohol. It was the second time the Sheriff’s Workplace had handled a drinking-related incident for the previous corporal, Flowers stated. For the prior case, the Sheriff’s Workplace’s Inner Affairs Workplace investigated and recommendated a suspension for Swindell.
When Flowers took workplace in January, he stated he met with Swindell concerning the earlier incident.
” ‘That is it. That is the tip of the road.’ ” Flowers stated he instructed the corporal. “He assured me he was dedicated to our company. Sadly, he simply did not comply with by way of along with his finish of the cut price.”
Based on the St. Lucie County Jail, Swindell, 36, was booked on the facility at 7:26 a.m. Sunday and was being held with out bail.
