CHARLESTON — A person was sentenced to jail when he admitted fondling a 10-year-old woman.
Kyle W. Ackerman, 24, of Oakland, pleaded responsible to a cost of aggravated prison sexual abuse.
Ackerman was accused of fondling the woman’s buttocks via her clothes and kissing her on Feb. 7, 2018.
With the settlement reached in his case, he acquired a 4 1/2-year jail sentence.
Jail time wasn’t required however Ackerman was eligible for a jail time period of three to 14 years. That was twice the everyday most sentence for the conviction, which Ackerman confronted due to an earlier sex offense conviction in Douglas County.
Within the Coles County case, Circuit Decide Mitchell Shick sentenced Ackerman by accepting the phrases of a plea settlement that State’s Lawyer Jesse Danley and Public Defender Anthony Ortega really helpful.
