At present, the Committee of the Parties to the Istanbul Conference issued a declaration on the event of the tenth anniversary of the opening for signature to the Istanbul Conference, highlighting 10 steps for a renewed decade of motion.
By means of these 10 ideas, the Committee of the Events takes inventory of the key affect of the Istanbul Conference, shares its concern about persistent obstacles to the prevention and elimination of all types of violence lined by the conference, and reiterates its will and willpower to strengthen and speed up efforts within the subsequent decade to remove violence in opposition to ladies and home violence.
Anchored within the goals and ideas of the Istanbul Conference and recalling that violence in opposition to ladies constitutes a critical violation of human rights and a serious impediment to the achievement of gender equality, the declaration highlights the potential for sustainable change by way of the complete implementation of the Istanbul Conference.
With this declaration, the Committee of the Events recognises the added worth of the Istanbul Conference and acknowledges the key contribution of its monitoring mechanism. Condemning any steps taken to maneuver away from its requirements, the Committee of the Events invitations Council of Europe member and non-member states to ratify the conference and be a part of efforts to construct a society free from violence in opposition to ladies.
