TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — After final Thursday’s devastating tornadoes in Hale and Bibb County, some Tuscaloosa teams are coming collectively to assist storm victims by gathering provides to offer residents who need assistance.
“We’ve acquired meals and we’ve acquired water, Gatorade and paper towels. Child provides and pet provides, private hygiene. It’s something and every part,” Northport Mayor Bobby Herndon stated.
On Tuesday afternoon, Herndon delivered a trailer and a big truck stuffed with donated provides to storm victims in Greensboro, Centreville and Perry County.
“I’ve been to Louisiana twice for various catastrophes, and I’ve been to Florida to assist out. And several other cities in Alabama. So, it’s my ministry and it’s a calling however I contain our entire neighborhood in it,” Herndon stated.
In the meantime, the Residence Builders Affiliation of Tuscaloosa is teaming up with the Tuscaloosa Affiliation of Realtors to refill a 26-foot trailer with provides. President Valerie Webb says serving to others in want is an effective feeling.
