A rise in migrants on the southern US border, and an already backlogged demand for asylum, are testing Joe Biden’s guarantees on immigration.
The variety of migrants detained on the border is on tempo to hit 130,000 in March, up from 100,000 in February. A spike in unaccompanied minors crossing the border can also be placing a pressure on the immigration system.
The Biden administration has reversed a coverage introduced in below his predecessor, Donald Trump, that turned away unaccompanied youngsters on the border.
